A few years ago a Christian musician hired me to shoot her CD cover for her soon to be released Music CD. It was one of those days when we needed the sun and it was cloudy. It was questioned whether or not we should head out to try and shoot. We Attended a church called “Hope Chapel” and so I jokingly said ” we can always “Hope” for the best.”. Off we went and sure enough, right at sunset, the sun broke through, the clouds fired up and this photo was created which to this day has spoken “hope” to me. Cute story…right? It really goes deeper than that for me and I think others. So many of us, including myself, struggle with some degree of abandonment issues. Abandonment from our friends at times, other times from our parents or spouse. Sometimes we probably all fear abandonment from our creator. These fears shake us and keep us restless. Hey, we are in good company. King David from scripture shared the same fears and wrote about them over and over again, but he always came to rest on Hope. Acts 2:26 quotes David on this subject ” Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope…” We can exhale and shout out our joy to Christ and fall into His arms and just rest…in the Hopes He has given us…everyday!
